Scholarship Applicants
Can I send in support letters, transcripts and other material under separate cover?
We prefer that all application materials be submitted together when possible. If materials must arrive separately, please be sure they are received by the application deadline. We suggest you follow up with anyone responsible for submitting materials on your behalf. An incomplete application may not be considered.
What is the SAR?
The Student Aid Report (SAR) is the report issued once you have submitted the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The SAR should show the student’s Expected Financial Contribution (EFC). This is required for applications and must be sent as soon as possible if not included with the application package.
I have not received a financial aid notification letter from my school. What should I do?
Once you have selected a college and received a financial aid notification letter, you must forward it to the scholarship committee. If you have not received one by May 15, please contact the Foundation office.
Can I complete one application for the several scholarships I wish to apply for?
Yes. Please list the scholarships you wish to be considered for on the first page of the application.
I will attend a trade school next year. May I apply for scholarship aid?
Yes, if you are planning on attending an accredited trade school.
Scholarship Award Winners
I have received several scholarships and I’m not sure how this will affect my financial aid package?
Please call the financial aid office at your college and ask them if this outside scholarship will displace any grants offered by the school.
I received a scholarship and now my college wants to reduce my grant. What should I do?
It is the intention of our scholarship donors that a scholarship award help you pay for the costs of your education. If a college proposes to reduce a grant (not a loan or work-study), we can hold your scholarship award for the following semester or year. Please contact the Foundation office to discuss this.
I received a scholarship last year, do I have to apply again?
Yes. We require a new application with a new essay and new letters of recommendation, preferably from a college professor.
